1 Corinthians 1:27 – Today’s Verse for April 2, 2025 Wednesday

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.“
1 Corinthians 1:27 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

You ever notice how God doesn’t go for the obvious choice? This verse makes that clear. He picks the “foolish” things of the world to shame the wise. The weak things to embarrass the strong. It’s like God flips the script just to remind everyone who’s actually in charge.

We’d probably build a team with Ivy League grads and influencers. God picks fishermen, ex-cons, barren women, and stutterers. He hands slingshots to shepherd boys and microphones to misfits. Why? Because when they win, no one can say it was their résumé. It was all Him.

This verse isn’t an insult—it’s an invitation. If you feel unqualified, awkward, or underwhelming, congratulations. You’re exactly the kind of person God uses. He’s not looking for impressive. He’s looking for willing.

And let’s be honest—if God only used the best and brightest, most of us would be out of a job. Good thing He majors in surprises.

Personal Prayer

Lord, thank You for choosing the unlikely, the overlooked, the ones like me. I don’t always feel wise, strong, or worthy—but You say that’s exactly who You use. That humbles me.

Help me stop trying to impress You or anyone else. Teach me to trust that Your power shows up best in my weakness. Use my flaws, my fears, even the parts I try to hide—for Your glory.

Remind me that I don’t have to be enough, because You already are. If You can use the foolish to shame the wise, then I know You can use me.

I’m here. I’m willing. Make something beautiful out of the mess.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
